Prescription goggles... Kramer-style

Dear Diary,
Ollie and Ben both took swimming lessons this summer. They are both good swimmers... and getting better every day. Because of Ollie's poor vision, he used to wear his glasses in the pool. It wasn't good, but he was able to see more than he could without them. After doing some research on prescription goggles (i.e., "googling for googles") I decided to subject my youngest to some Kramer Handiwork.

The equation:

(lenses from one pair old glasses)
+
(one pair of clearance goggles from Target)
+
(one tube transparent waterproof silicone sealant)
=
Ollie Kramer's Prescription Goggles

Results shown below. They worked somewhat well. And since the silicone was transparent, it wasn't too obvious that there were gobs and gobs of it all over the goggles. :)

Believe me, if I could have found some way to use duct tape, it would have been even cooler!

NOTE: We recently found a good deal on "real" prescription goggles. Though it would have been good for his character, Ollie will not need to suffer the endless teasing he would have received wearing his Kramer Special goggles. :)
